A masterplan for the former US Air Force base at Upper Heyford has been approved by Cherwell district councillors.
Proposals for outline planning permission include 1,075 homes, businesses, retail units, a pub, village green and primary school.
Owner Dorchester Group also plans to keep some of the Cold War buildings at the base, where nuclear bombers were stationed, and create a heritage centre.
