ROLL up, roll up...the circus is in town.
Death-defying motorcylists, trapeze artists, clowns and fire-jugglers from Zippo’s Circus are all appearing under the big top at South Park, Oxford, until Tuesday.
The motorcyclists are performing in the ‘Globe of death’ for the first time in Britain, hurtling around a steel mesh sphere at 60mph.
Yasmine Smart — granddaughter of legendary showman Billy Smart — will also be performing with her horses and ponies.
As in previous years, the show will be presented by ringmaster Norman Barrett MBE.
Circus spokesman Chris Barltrop said the circus would be fun for all the family. He said: “Yasmine is a huge celebrity throughout Europe and America, where the circus is viewed as an important art-form.
“She is returning to Britain by special invitation from Zippo’s Circus for her first national tour here since 1986.”
Tickets can be booked at zippos.co.uk or at the box office on the night.
