FILM fans helped boost local movie-making by enjoying a movie, not in a cinema – but on a bus.
The converted vehicle, the only one of its kind in the UK, was hired by filmmaker Vicky Jewson in an event to support independent filmmaking in Oxfordshire Local movie-makers, including her own company, Jewson Film Productions, in Farmoor, have staged a series of events in aid of the local movie industry, raising £200,000 to bring to life the ideas of up-and-coming script writers.
Guests at the final fundraiser on Tuesday, were treated to a teaser of Miss Jewson’s next project, called Born of War.
The film, written by Miss Jewson and Rupert Whitaker, is about a university student who finds out her father is actually an Afghan warlord. It will be filmed this year.
Miss Jewson, who launched her career with the romantic comedy Lady Godiva, said: “We are actively looking for scripts from up and coming filmmakers hoping to get their films made.” Contact the company on 01865 863166.
