Twenty-five years after first meeting, Simone Palmer and Matty Trinder’s wish is to marry. The Blackbird Leys, Oxford, couple did set a date a year ago but family illnesses forced them to cancel their big day.

The childhood sweethearts met aged 15 and now have three children aged 17, six and three years old.

Simone said: “We have always said we would marry one day but the cost has always been the issue”.

After the disappointment of postponing and sadness of family illnesses Simone said: “We really don’t have the time, energy or money now.”

Winning would fulfil their dream of finally becoming man and wife.
