Silverstone is urging fans to make the most of its 17.5% VAT freeze on tickets for the 2011 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix and AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP).
From April 5, VAT on tickets for the UK’s two biggest motor sport events will rise to the standard rate of 20%.
Richard Phillips, managing director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said: “We promised to freeze prices at the pre-rise VAT rate of 17.5% until at least the end of January.
"We then extended the freeze until midnight on April 4 to give fans as much time as possible to save on the VAT.
"Anyone planning on coming to MotoGP or the British Grand Prix needs to purchase their tickets before April 5 to take advantage of the lower rate.”
Tickets for the 2011 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix and AirAsia British Grand Prix, taking place on July 8-10 and June 10-12 respectively, can be purchased 24hrs a day, seven days a week, at www.silverstone.co.uk.
