Police are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in Littlemore, Oxford, early today.
Shortly before 7.30am, two men knocked at the door of a property in Brocklesby Road and pushed their way past the two victims, a 15-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman.
Once inside, they forced both victims into the hallway, pinned the 21-year-old to the floor and covered their mouths.
The offenders ran out of the property when a neighbour, alerted by screaming, knocked on the front door.
It is believed they made off on foot towards the bridge next to Sainsbury’s car park in the direction of Rose Hill.
The first offender is described as black, in his mid 20s, 5ft 8in tall, of slim build. He was wearing a black silky hat and had his mouth covered.
The second offender is described as 5ft 8in tall, of mixed race and in his early 20s. He had brown eyes, dark short curly hair and wore a painter’s white face paper mask covering his face. He was wearing gloves.
Both offenders spoke with southern accents and they were both wearing clean new white ‘painter’ dungarees and black tops underneath.
Acting Det Insp Steve Raffield said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack which has left the victims very distressed.
“The offenders were disturbed during the incident and made off quickly. They would have been distinctive and I would urge anyone who remembers seeing two men matching their descriptions in the area to contact me.
“Nothing was taken from the property and we are still trying to establish a motive.
“Although this has understandably shocked the two victims, I can reassure people that this is an isolated incident and we are working hard to catch those responsible.”
Anyone with information should contact ADI Raffield on 0845 8 505 505 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
