United's Face in the Crowd winner gets a pleasant shock after nasty defeat
A 24-year-old shop worker got a shock while reading his morning newspaper yesterday.
Daniel Gittus, from Cropedy, near Banbury, was picked out as this week’s Oxford Mail Face in the Crowd winner after Oxford United’s defeat at the Kassam Stadium to Stevenage on Tuesday.
He said: “When I opened up my newspaper, I was was sat drinking my coffee, looked at the bottom of the paper and thought ‘wow, that’s me’.
“I had to look at it about six times just to make sure.”
He drove straight round to the Oxford Mail offices to claim his £75 prize.
