Why does the coalition Government want to turn Oxford’s health service upside down and waste so much money on reorganisation? Before the election the Tories promised the opposite.
David Cameron said he would protect frontline NHS services, stop money being wasted on a top-down reorganisation and provide real increases in NHS funding year on year.
But the MP for Witney has scrapped Labour’s waiting time guarantees for hospital treatments and GP appointments. Now he is cutting frontline staff and wasting £2bn on a reckless and damaging reorganisation.
Tory and Lib Dem plans for health will put market competition before patients and rip the ‘N’ out of the NHS. All we have seen from David Cameron so far is broken promise after broken promise.
We saw huge improvements with Labour, but now we are seeing the NHS go backwards under the Tories. Oxford’s world class health service is too important to let the Tories and Lib Dems trash it.
