Bosses at logistics firm Unipart are celebrating after profits almost doubled last year.
Figures released for the 12 months until December 31 show an operating profit of £9.5m, compared to £4.9m for 2009.
Group chief executive John Neill said: “Like many other companies, the last two years have been particularly challenging for our business, but 2010 has seen a return to growth, with excellent performances across our logistics, manufacturing and international business.
“We also generated significant amounts of cash, which we have continued to invest in our business in both capital projects and to reduce our overall borrowings.”
Earlier this month the company announced it had sealed the future of more than 1,000 jobs at its Cowley headquarters after confirming a 12-year contract extension with DIY retailer Homebase to distribute its products in the UK.
A total of 200 jobs will be created over the next two years and recruitment will start at end of the year, which will take the workforce to more than 1,200.
