Historic moorings on the Thames at Henley have been sold for an undisclosed sum. This rare opportunity to purchase a length of moorings on one of England’s most famous stretches of river generated interest from a broad cross-section of potential purchasers, some with existing interests in the water-based leisure market.
The 28 moorings, formerly operated as a family business, have a frontage to the Thames of approximately 290ft, and occupy a prime position on Thames Side, close to Henley town centre and a stone’s throw from the town’s historic five-arched bridge, a focal point for the annual Royal Regatta and arts and music festival.
Kay Griffiths, of the Savills Leisure team in Oxford who handled the sale, said: “Thames Side moorings demonstrates that the leisure market remains resilient for properties with good trading potential, in sought-after locations, and where both parties to the deal show a genuine willingness to achieve a sale.”
