A PENSIONER abused a 10-year-old girl while she was off school for the summer holidays, a court heard.

Chun Wai, 72, exposed himself and sexually assaulted the girl a number of times over a two-month period up to August 22 last year.

Wai, of Broad Oak, Oxford, was yesterday jailed for 15 months at Oxford Crown Court after admitting two counts of sexual assault and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Ian Acheson, prosecuting, said: “The girl was asked on a number of occasions to kiss Mr Wai and ‘make him happy’. On a number of occasions he exposed his penis to her, asking her to both look at and touch it.

“The girl was also touched by Mr Wai in her stomach and groin area, and she said he would then move his hands downwards. This happened maybe seven or eight times.”

Clare Evans, defending, said Wai’s action had caused him and his family “great shame”.

Judge Patrick Eccles sentenced Wai to 15 months imprisonment for each offence, all to run concurrently. Wai will have to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for the next 10 years.
