Saints entertained the league leaders this Sunday at Boults Lane. The surface was good and the weather fine and so a good game was anticipated.
After an even first 5-10 minutes of sizing each other up, Saints started to impose themselves on the game and make some chances, whilst stopping Ardington from playing. They capitalised on this period by taking the lead with some incisive wing play, great delivery and a sharp finish from Rowan Alexander. The rest of the first half continued to be very even and Saints went in 1-0 at the break.
Ardington came out in the second half determined to get the win that would help them in their title bid and equalised with an excellent long range shot early on from Jake Denton. They then found themselves up against a resolute and composed Saints defence and as the half wore on, Saints were able to come back into the match and create chances. However, neither side could break the deadlock and so the match finished 1-1.
A fair result and a great team performance from Saints.
