FITNESS fanatics are being urged to take part in a gruelling challenge for Comic Relief.
Visitors to Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre in Oxford on Saturday can take part in a 10-hour spin-a-thon on spinning bikes, which have a heavy disc at the front.
Staff hope more than 200 customers will pay £10 to take part for hour-long attempts to raise more than £2,000. There will be 10 back-to-back spinning classes between 9.30am and 6.30pm.
General manager Rob Wood said: “This will be a great event and we want as many people as possible to come along and give spinning a go.
“The classes are open to beginners and experts alike.”
Barton Leisure Centre is also supporting Comic Relief by urging users to climb the equivalent of five-and-a-half mile-high Mount Everest on gym machines.
They are challenging users to complete the challenge as many times as possible next week.
