A MICRO-budget film featuring some of Oxford’s most famous landmarks and a cast of 30 local people has been released online.
Oxfordshire film-makers Mark McDermott and Paul Smith made Harmony’s Requiem at a cost of just £8,000, while both held down day jobs.
It is about a troubled recluse who struggles to compose a piece of music and how his emotions spill over into a series of mysterious outbursts.
Most of the money was spent paying a composer to write the score.
Mr Smith, 33, who is a recycling company manager, said: “We had between 20 and 30 extras and it was an amazing project to be involved with.
“Because the film is quite gritty, working with a small budget just added to the dramatic look and feel of it.”
The film was shot from April to June last year and was premiered at the Phoenix cinema in Walton Street.
