PEOPLE convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently:

Norman Gourley, 58, of no fixed address, admitted assault by beating in Abingdon on January 29, failing to surrender to bail on January 31 and committing another offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Original offence of shoplifting resentenced. Fined £80, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £100 compensation. Given three-year restraining order from Abingdon Library.

Andrew Kilgour, 24, of St Clement, Jersey, admitted criminal damage of a ground floor window and breach of a restraining order in Oxford on February 2. Jailed for 16 weeks due to “serious distress to victim” and proximity to imposition of restraining order.

Terrance Lynam, 61, of Cowley Road, Littlemore, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Oxford on February 15. Fined £140, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Imam Makhmakhanov, 18, of Woodin’s Way, Oxford, admitted driving without insurance in Pembroke Street, Oxford, on October 24. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

William Morton, 34, of Carysfort Road, Bournemouth, admitted theft from a motor vehicle of a suitcase in Oxford on June 13. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Tammie Pepper, 18, of Longleat Close, Leicester, admitted receiving stolen goods – a laptop and games console worth £450 – in Oxford on October 20. Given a 12-month conditional discharge with £50 costs.

Matthew Bagnall-Nevers, 22, of Nye Bevan Close, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on January 17 and failing to surrender to court bail on February 1. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £100 costs.

Karen Bottley, 42, of Sheldon Way, Littlemore, admitted shoplifting a DVD player worth £229.99 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on August 23; possessing a knife in Sainsbury’s on August 23; theft of £300 from Littlemore Post Office on June 30; failure to surrender to court bail on October 5; shoplifting toys worth £320.41 from Toys R Us in Oxford on September 16; driving without a licence and without insurance in Railway Lane on September 22; shoplifting clothing worth £77.96 from TK Maxx in Oxford on October 8; failure to surrender to court bail on November 5; shoplifting clothing valued at 348.50 from Next in Oxford on December 21; possession of heroin (Class A) in Oxford on October 8 and shoplifting clothing valued at £94.88 from TK Maxx in Oxford on February 2. Jailed for 16 weeks, fined £160 and a £15 victims’ surcharge, and given six penalty points.

John Beebe, 31, of Shepherds Path, Northolt, Middlesex, admitted burglary of £300 from Lord Williams’s School in Thame on September 27. Jailed for 24 weeks.

Alexander Salvsen, 25, of St Mary’s Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting bottles of shampoo worth £91.80 from Boots in Oxford on January 5. Given a six-month conditional discharge.

Nicholas Adderley, 27, of St Michael’s Road, Bournemouth, admitted criminal damage and assault by beating in Towersey on December 30. Given 12 months’ supervision, six months’ alcohol dependency treatment and told to pay £100 compensation.

Cheryl Bunyan, 31, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting toiletries worth £115 from Pod in Oxford on August 29 and two bottles of wine from Tesco in Oxford on October 4. Also admitted failure to surrender to court bail on November 5. Given 12 months’ supervision, six months’ alcohol dependency treatment and told to pay £115 compensation.

Kenston McIntosh, 52, of Freeland Road, Oxford, admitting drink driving in Iffley Road, Oxford, on January 23. Namely having 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £280, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

Lisa Richards, 23, of Pitters Piece, Long Crendon, admitted drink driving in St Thomas Street, Oxford, on January 21. Namely having 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Above the legal limit of £35mg. Fined £140, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Glen Ramsay, 36, of Cricket Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting an iPod valued at £192.99 from Western Computers in Oxford on September 2. Eighteen-month conditional discharge with £100 compensation.

Thomas Duncan, 63, of Algir Close, Gainsborough, Lincs, admitted driving a double-decker bus without due care and attention on September 11 in London Road, Headington. Fined £200, £15 victims’ surcharge and £35 costs. Given four penalty points.

Daniel Gatuku, 36, of Winchelsea Close, Banbury, convicted of failing to provide a roadside sample on September 4. Fined £250, £15 victims’ surcharge and £250 costs. Banned from driving for two years.

Stuart Gallacher, 46, of Pike Terrace, Oxford, admitted theft of £12.85 of wine from the King’s Arms in Oxford on December 14 and breach of a conditional discharge by further offending. Fined £50.

Christopher Clarke, 31, of Loudwater, High Wycombe, convicted of assault by beating on April 24. Given 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £200 compensation and £300 costs.
