Judahne the Foe for the Colts
Judahne Medley scored a brace as Kidlington gained revenge for an early-season defeat in some style with two exceptional team performances.
Kidlington won the first game 6-1. Inspirational skipper Ben Stewart, playing further forward than usual, created many chances and scored two great goals, the second being a particularly fine effort from an acute angle. Callum Rolfe contributed a well-taken second half hat-trick - the best of which saw him mazily dribble through the Colts defence, whilst second half substitute Ben Owen also scored a fine goal, rounding the keeper nicely before slotting home. Colts, to their credit, kept going, and gained some consolation via a brilliant long range free kick from Charlie Liversedge late on.
Marcus Tranter set Kidlington on their way in the second game, half-volleying home after the visiting keeper had saved a shot from Luca Sykes. Ethan Couling and Sykes added further goals before half time. Medley, who led the line well throughout, got his reward with two second half goals from close range, after good initial saves from the Colts keeper. Oxford rarely threatened, and when they did break through Kidlington keeper Archie Devlin made a fine stop. Colts did get some reward for their efforts however, via a late goal from Joshua Hiles, leaving the second game 5-1 and the overall score 11-2.
With their normal management duo both unavailable, Kidlington were under the temporary stewardship of Don Rolfe and Phil Baker. The stand-ins did well however, as Kidlington gave one of their best performances of the season.
