Didcot maintained their hundred per cent record with a hard fought win over Horspath in very blustery conditions. Didcot took the lead with their first attack, Ben Marshall & Jack White exchanged passes twice before Ben Marshall fired past the Horspath keeper. That was the only goal in the first game despite Didcot creating several other chances but were denied by a fine performance by the Horspath goalkeeper, who denied Ben Marshall and man of the match Josh Lyons who put in an excellent performance. The first game finished 1-0 to Didcot.
Didcot started the second game well and nearly went in front when Charlie McDermaid's shot was brilliantly saved by the Horspath keeper and then Declan Hargreaves fired just wide after a mazy run. Horspath then nearly scored but were denied by a goalline clearance by man of the match Tyler Brown to keep the scores level. Didcot took the lead at the start of the second half when Louie Bumpass scored from the rebound after James Pearson's shot had been saved. Didcot had further chances through Fred Bradshaw & Louie Bumpass but went 2-0 up when Declan Hargreaves ran onto a James Pearson through ball to slot home. Horspath then hit the post but Didcot ran out 2-0 winners (3-0 on aggregate). Credit should go to both teams for an entertaining game in difficult conditions that was excellently refereed.
