OKAY, we have had some snow and freezing temperatures and local services stop.
But those of us a bit longer in the tooth will remember these conditions, and worse, in the past.
But then everyone rose to the challenge to ensure local services continued as near normal as possible.
But in those days we did not have the health and safety brigade trying to justify their existence by making rules that defy common sense. Here in Abingdon we did not receive our normal post for nearly a week before Christmas, and heaven only knows when deliveries will recommence.
However, we have received the Oxford Mail each day without fail. Even when the conditions became unsafe for cycling, our paper boy walked his round.
So well done Reece and all your delivery colleagues. You have succeeded where others feared to tread.
