EGGHEADS of all ages took part in a taxing challenge to recreate a successful food parcel drop at Science Oxford.
Around 40 children took part in the egg drop challenge which saw youngsters challenged to drop an egg from three metres high without it smashing.
The kids supervised by adults parachutes and protective cases for their eggs at the museum in London Place, St Clements, to try to complete the task successfully.
Events officer Emma Wightman said the challenge taught children about problem solving and aerodynamics with the kids shown how parachutes are used to land everything from food aid to astronauts.
She said: “The children have really enjoyed themselves and it got a little competitive which made it even more fun.
“We like to arrange interesting challenges after Christmas.”
Today the museums live zone is holding a raft construction event giving children the chance to build a craft that would safely transport animals away from a flooded zoo.
