Oxford-born motoring writer Ian Wagstaff has lived in Chinnor for nearly 30 years and is former press and promotions manager for Silverstone. For his latest book The British at Indianapolis (Veloce, £50) he inverviewed drivers such as Nigel Mansell, Jack Brabham and Stirling Moss. UK drivers have now won the Indianapolis 500 on seven occasions while six cars made in Oxfordshire have won.
