Sir – I am an 89½-year-old man and in 2009 my relations bought me a four-wheel push-along trolley car (four wheels, two steering, plus a small seat) because I don’t walk well, having a staggery gait.
I have been astounded at the way people rush to help me, especially getting on or off a bus. One day I got into the bus and a lady cleared away her goods from the pram area to make room for me.
Another time I was having trouble squeezing through a narrow shop doorway.
A customer jumped up and rushed to my aid. Yes sir, the people around Wheatley and Thame have hearts of gold.
Jim Taylor, Wheatley
