Cuts, cuts and more cuts.
Today we learn how Vale of White Horse District Council plans to keep itself lean going into the New Year.
Superloos, mini-recycling centres at supermarkets and a pitch and putt course are among the services which could be axed to help the council cut its spending.
A pain, yes, but we hope it is not just the tip of the iceberg.
Admittedly, it is not the best news as we approach the new year.
But we would rather that the services outlined in today’s story get the chop than people’s jobs, that’s for sure.
