Oxford United are looking for fans to help clear snow before Tuesday’s match against Macclesfield.
A large crowd is expected for the fixture but three to four inches of snow needs to be cleared from the pitch if it is to stand any chance of going ahead.
Frost covers are in place between the snow and the pitch, which the club today described as “nice and soft”.
A statement read: “We are asking for volunteers to come to the ground on Monday, December 27, to help clear snow from the covers and pitch perimeter.
“We would like people to come along at 10am and also to bring plastic shovels, wheelbarrows and any other snow-clearing equipment that they may have to help us ensure that the game will go ahead.”
