Police today appealed for witnesses to a fatal collision near Henley.

At about 6.30pm yesterday, a collision involving three vehicles, a black Land Rover Discovery, a white Volvo and a black BMW, happened on Greys Road, Rotherfield Greys, near Henley.

Police said the driver of the BMW, a 54-year-old local man, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, but later died of his injuries.

The man who was driving the Land Rover was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol and is in custody at Loddon Valley Police Station.

Police are appealing for anybody who saw the collision, or any of the vehicles involved, before it took place to contact the Road Death Investigation Unit on 0845 8 505 505 quoting URN 1109 of 23/12/10.
