WHY, I ask myself, doesn’t the Government pay the tuition fees for our students.
After all, the Government can always find the money for disasters, and the money to bail out Ireland. And if Spain or Portugal get in a mess like Ireland, we will have to help bail them out as well. It is wrong.
I think it’s good that we have our young men and women who not only study at university, but at home as well, and lose out on a lot of things in their young lives. To get a degree and start off your working life with debt round your neck is exploitation.
After all, any students who get well-paid jobs will be paying a lot of tax. This Government shouldn’t expect any more.
Perhaps our students should appeal to the EU?
