Oxford author Sonia Scott-Fleming describes her novel Hope Springs (Back To Front) as “the autobiography of an acondro-plasiac”. The story takes the life of Hope, a dwarf, from her childhood diary, through her time as an Oxford student and onwards. The chainlink fence on the cover symbolises the barrier between the disabled character and those whom she meets in life — a barrier which she overcomes.
