POLICE are linking three burglaries in and around Watlington and Thame.
In Pauls Way, Watlington, on Tuesday last week, jewellery, a sat nav, credit cards and £100 in cash were stolen from a house sometime between 10pm and 5am.
Thieves also tried to break into a house in the same road at 10.30pm the same day, but police think a security light scared them off.
The following day, in Chapel Street, Watlington, burglars climbed through an unlocked window taking keys, bank cards, a driving licence, sports bag and £300 cash.
In Clare Street, Thame, a laptop was stolen from a house, and in Chiltern View, Little Milton, a laptop, a television and DVD player were taken from a house.
Pc Matthew Hammersley, of the priority crime team, said: “These three incidents are almost certainly linked due to the similar methods used and the locations where they took place.
“They have taken advantage of insecure properties, so I urge all residents of Watlington to be on their guard. Be sure to lock your windows and doors.
“We believe there are two patterns emerging here, this series of burglaries in Thame the second.
“Being isolated communities, it may be quite easy for residents to become complacent and leave their doors and windows unlocked.
“It is essential you lock your doors and windows at all times.”
