A bride and groom who got married despite the heavy snowfall had their honeymoon plans scuppered when their flight to Prague was cancelled.

In Monday’s Oxford Mail, readers learned how Katie Martin, 23, married Robert Salmon at St Michael and All Angels Church, in Steventon, near Abingdon, on Sunday.

But the happy couple were last night stranded at Gatwick airport.

The bride’s mother Sue Green said: “She was very upset. There are flights going out of Gatwick, but they are one of the unlucky ones.”
