AN incinerator plan that would see 84 extra lorries go around Bicester’s ring road will be reviewed.
A Buckinghamshire County Council committee will scrutinise the plan for Calvert, near the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border.
The incinerator would be nine miles from Bicester but send Bucks waste along the M40 to junction nine and then east of Bicester on the A41.
Another incinerator plan, for Ardley, six miles to the north west of the town, was approved in October.
Aylesbury Vale District Council leader John Cartwright led the move to call in the decision for the Waste Recycling Group’s Calvert plan.
It will be looked at by Bucks County Council’s overview and scrutiny committee in January.
Cabinet member for planning and environment Martin Tett said: “We have followed a robust procurement process, which would be good for the environment and help save taxpayers more than £100m in landfill costs.”
