A BAR manager has been jailed after being convicted of raping a teenager in his pub’s toilets.
Rogerio Coito was working at the Priory near the Kassam Stadium in Oxford when he raped the woman in January this year.
Yesterday, jurors at Oxford Crown Court took four hours and 25 minutes to find the 22-year-old guilty of two counts of rape by a majority of 10 to two after a week-long trial.
The victim, who was said to be as much as three times the drink-drive limit at the time, admitted her memory of the incident was “patchy”.
Coito, of The Oval, Rose Hill, admitted having sex but said it was consensual.
Colin McCarragher, defending, said his client had no previous convictions and was a “hard-working man”.
Judge Anthony King jailed Coito for five years and said: “This was a disgraceful incident where you took advantage of a young lady who was not in a fit state to look after herself.”
