THE amount of confidential data contained on one computer memory stick, lost in the city centre, is truly frightening.
Where this data would previously have been held in filing cabinets, it can now be transported on a device the size of a stick of chewing gum.
Organisations which hold such sensitive material must ensure it is stored and transported under conditions of strict security – not dropped in the street.
