After two weeks forced rest due to the wintery weather that both teams were itching to get on the pitch and run off some of their energy. Both teams worked hard and deserved the draw.
Cholsey took the initiative from the start and pressed Marston with good passing play and a series of shots. Marston defended well against these attacks and forced Cholsey back on the defence and won a corner. The first half saw continued attacks by Cholsey who were unable to find the back of the net. There was excellent passing between all the players, particularly between William Thomas in defence to Jo down the wing who would then pull the ball l into the middle for Freddie or Tyler. Freddie took a long range shot that looked to the Cholsey parents that it found the top corner but yet again somehow the ball didn’t cross the line which summed up the first half. Marston’s presence was felt in the second half as the team fought back to attack Cholsey. Cholsey gave two corners away but then another Marston attack was defended well by Cholsey and Marston had three corners in a row. Dylan, in defence, had a good second half and even managed to hoof one close to the goal. Marston looked dangerous a few times by chipping the ball over the defence leaving Jack Heriot, Cholsey keeper, one on one, but he stood his ground and made the saves. William Thomas was Cholsey’s man of the match.
