Police today appealed for information after a racially aggravated assault on a bus driver in Wallingford.
At about 2.40am on Saturday, police said a white man verbally abused a bus driver that had stopped in Market Place. He then grabbed the driver’s glasses off his face and broke them.
The offender was white, about 5ft 7in tall, well built, with short mousey blonde hair. He was wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans.
PC Samantha Lewis said: “I appeal to anyone who was on the X40 bus, or in Market Square, in the early hours of Saturday and witnessed the incident to contact police.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact PC Lewis via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
