HUNDREDS of Christmas shoppers descended on Oxford Town Hall on Saturday to celebrate the city’s 30th annual Green Fair.
More than 100 environmental and ethical stalls were enjoyed by shoppers at the event organised by the Oxford Green Party.
There was also an appearance from Santa, kitted out in his traditional green outfit.
Event organiser Sid Phelps said: “We are really pleased with how it went this year.
“All the stallholders were very happy with their takings and there was a great atmosphere at the hall.
“It was a fantastic way to celebrate our 30th year.
“Now we just need to think of ways to be able to hold more stalls next year, as we were fully booked this year.”
He added: “It is important to keep these issues on the agenda.
“Green issues seem to be very fashionable at the moment, and there’s a lot of talk about it, but we now need to start actually living our lives like this.”
Mr Phelps thanked shoppers and volunteers for their help.
Among the organisations taking part was the Oxfordshire Badger Group.
