CHILDREN from West Oxford Primary School filled the city’s Westgate Centre with music yesterday, as they practised their Christmas carols to raise money for charity.
Forty-eight youngsters aged four to 11 sang to shoppers, raising £173 in 30 minutes for homeless charity Oxford Poverty Action Trust.
Among the children were members of the school’s junior and Glee Club choirs, as well the school orchestra, who will perform for parents at the end of term.
Headteacher Julie St Clair Hoare said: “They sang with a great deal of passion this year, and there was a big crowd."
