THIS latest suspect featured on day nine of the Oxford Mail’s Badvent Calendar thought she had got away with stealing £100 of “shopping.”
But what she did not realise is that a sharp-eyed CCTV operator caught her on camera walking around Boots in Didcot, taking creams and moisturisers off the shelf and hiding them in her jacket.
She appeared to make no effort to pay for them and simply walked out of the store in Broadway.
She is suspected of stealing the goods, including an ovulation kit, at about 2.55pm on November 2.
The woman is one of 24 wanted people the Oxford Mail is featuring in the run-up to Christmas as part of our Badvent Calendar, packed full of baddies.
Police want to round up as many as possible and hope the public call in to tip them off about where they are.
The woman is described as white, aged between 35 and 45, with brown hair which was tied back in a ponytail on the day of the crime.
She was wearing black trousers, a black waist-length coat and was carrying a black and white shoulder bag with a swirl pattern.
Pc Matthew Richardson said: “I would urge anyone who recognises this woman to come forward and speak to us.
“Shoplifting is something that impacts on everyone, as shops inevitably have to pass on the cost of these sorts of crimes to law abiding shoppers who pay for their goods.”
Anyone with information should call Pc Richardson on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
