WE are told that severe cuts in various sectors have to be made. We are told that it is a total disaster for the local authorities to make ends meet.
Now I’m a little puzzled. Christmas lights are up once again and have been switched on by various celebrities.
Did they perform these grand gestures for nothing?
I could be wrong, but I think that our council representatives might just have found enough cash to pay the celebrities.
We know this great task of light-switching on is far more important than all the pressures the councils put on the community to find extra money to fund increases they pile on us and the money needed in the kitty for councillors’ expenses.
If money has to be saved, let’s start with the nonsense activities that take place first. Those we don’t need, we can do without.
I’m sure my letter will fall on deaf ears.
