A coach of Oxford University students travelling to France for a skiing trip was involved in a collision with a lorry on the M25 near Croydon at 2am on Saturday morning.
Many of the 44 passengers suffered cuts and bruising and were forced to escape from the coach through the emergency exit.
The students continued their trip to the French Alps, although the driver suffered a broken leg and wrist.
