A 20-year-old man who attempted to blackmail his boss for £15,000 has been given a community order.
Lukasz Hampel, who worked at motor parts firm HBPO in the Banbury, claimed he had a photograph of Leon Murray taking drugs and would show his employers and family if he did not hand over the money within three days.
Hampel, of Centre Street, earlier admitted blackmail and failing to surrender to police bail after he returned to his native Poland after the incident in February 2008.
Oxford Crown Court heard on Monday there was no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Mr Murray.
Hampel was given an eight-month jail term, suspended for two years, and told to do 200 hours’ unpaid work and pay £250 costs.
