THIS man thought he could get away with shoplifting, but no such luck.
He was caught on camera taking items off the shelf, putting them into a bag at a shop at 7pm on Thursday, September 9 – but forgot to pay for them.
The thief features on day seven of the Oxford Mail’s Badvent Calender, which pictures a new criminal suspect every day of the week until Christmas Day.
He is described as white, about 55 years old, approximately 5ft 8in tall and of stocky build.
At the time of the offence he was carrying a black record-style bag.
Pc Hannah Farrell said: “I believe that this man lives locally as he has been seen around other shops, usually wearing a number of coats at the same time.
“He has also been seen wearing a woolly hat with a flashing light on the back of it.
“Do you know this man? Have you seen him in the Chalgrove area?
“We are keen to speak to him as soon as possible and I would urge anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact Pc Farrell on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
