MORE than 300 soldiers will parade through Abingdon after coming home from Afghanistan for Christmas.
Members of 12 Logistic Support Regiment, based at Dalton Barracks, hold the Freedom of the Town, and will use their right to march with bayonets drawn on Wednesday.
The barracks, Abingdon Town Council and Vale of White Horse District Council are encouraging residents to turn out to show support for the soldiers.
The parade will start at the fire station in Ock Street at 10.30am and continue to the Market Place, for speeches and presentations by civic leaders.
They will then go on to St Helen’s Church at 11.15am, where there will be a private service.
