Sir – Surely it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that we could somehow make it possible to maintain at least a Sunday service on our public transport system over Christmas?
Of course everyone should be entitled to their own beliefs and to holidays to observe the appropriate festivals, but why should a secular society be held to ransom by the Christian church for two whole days every year?
