Sir – Whilst I agree with David Robertson (Letters, November 11), he failed to mention the appalling lack of mobile signal across the county.
For example, there has been a big fanfare about improving broadband coverage in Thame and yet it is difficult to get a mobile signal in the middle of the town.
At a conference last month in Oxford, our MEP James Elles was reported as saying that although Oxford has always been at the forefront of new discoveries, it was a scandal that some parts of the city were without a mobile telephone signal.
Mr Robertson wants to get superfast broadband across Oxfordshire, which is fine.
However, many more people will be able to embrace digital technology if they have a good mobile phone signal, since large numbers use their mobile as an access to the Internet.
