I WOULD like to make a point concerning your On The Spot letter (Last Wednesday’s ViewPoints).
How very sad that John Wilson does not want his ears to be insulted with trashy music in shops in the run-up to Christmas. Even more sad that no shop will get his custom unless he can shop in silence.
We live in a world where soldiers are experiencing the horrors of war and countless families live in constant anxiety about their loved ones in Afghanistan.
Thousands are desperately ill and recovering from accidents and traumas, loss of limbs and lives.
Add to this the many who are fearful for their jobs and their homes being repossessed, the many who do not know which way to turn for financial reasons, and those who are housebound.
John Wilson should be very grateful and thankful that he has the health, faculties and the cash to go shopping.
So, in conclusion, well done shops for brightening up the Christmas shopping, and I suspect you will survive without Mr Wilson’s custom.
