OXFORD United manager Chris Wilder helped illuminate Woodstock this weekend by switching on the town’s Christmas lights, above.
Hundreds of people packed into the square for the ceremony on Saturday night.
Mr Wilder and town mayor Julian Cooper, right, performed the honours in the freezing winter air.
Music was provided by the Youth Kunst and Genoegen Marching Band, who were visiting from Leiden, Oxford’s twin city in the Netherlands.
They were joined by Woodstock Primary School pupils, who sang a carols.
Father Christmas made an appearance, thanks to a bit of help from Woodstock Rotary Club.
Horse drawn carriages rumbled through Woodstock’s ancient streets and revellers kept themselves warm with mulled wine.
Mr Cooper said: “It was a lovely evening, everyone got into the Christmas spirit.
“The town council and local businesses managed to raise £4,000 towards the decorations, and the town looks fantastic now it is all lit up.”
