YOUNG Oxford United fans are being offered a chance to win £1,000 for their school next month.
Bridle Insurance is offering discounted tickets to schools and clubs for the game against Macclesfield on Tuesday, December 28.
With tickets costing £7 – usually £9.50 – there will be dedicated section in the North Stand for young fans, and everyone who buys a ticket will be entered in a prize draw.
One young winners will get £100 cash for themselves and £1,000 for their school or college.
Neil Fox, Bridle chief operations officer, said: “We are all very excited about the Christmas Bonanza and felt it would be an appropriate way to thank the fans and people of Oxfordshire who have insured their numerous cars, homes and businesses with us so far.
“We have had one or two schools contact us about the day already, hence prompting the competition and fully expect a festive party atmosphere.
“Whispers are already rife about a possible full house.”
The tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so schools are being urged to get in touch to book their tickets.
Bridle spokesman Darren Nangle added: “It’s all really exciting, lots of schools are coming forward and we have a large section put aside especially for them.”
“The kids should love it and we are really hoping for a full house at the match.”
The post-Christmas game usually attracts one of the biggest crowds of the season – more than 11,000 at the game against Woking four years ago.
On Thursday, Oxford United announced they would be slashing prices for the Bank Holiday fixture.
Tickets will be the cheapest ever to be offered for a league fixture at the Kassam Stadium.
Adult tickets will be available from £11 for tickets bought before 5pm on Friday, December 10.
Fellow Bridle spokesman Bob Turley said: “I am very excited at our first Bridle Bonanza day and would like to take this opportunity to thank the many supporters who have already insured with us.
“We will be running a number of promotions on the day to ensure a great atmosphere and and look forward to what we are sure will be a memorable day.”
