Town resident Rod Densham climbed to Everest base camp to raise awareness of the charity Special Effect.
Mr Densham, 53, climbed 18,000 feet to raise a flag for the Charlbury-based charity which uses cutting-edge technology to help children with severe disabilities.
He said: “Trekking up some of the steeper parts was very, very hard, primarily because of the altitude and the fact you can’t breathe.”
But he said it was worth it when he reached the camp and saw the sun rise over Everest.
He said: “That was just one of those memories that will stay with you forever.”
Last year Mr Densham, of Crawborough, helped raise £10,000 for the charity by climbing the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours for the charity.
