A NEW £450,000 building programme began at Cokethorpe School in 1986, with headmaster David Goldsmith digging out the first spadeful of earth for the foundations. The school had launched a £100,000 building appeal to help meet the cost of the project.
Pupils at Wood Green School and Tower Hill School held a Victorian day at the former Methodist School in High Street, dressing in period costume. There was strict discipline, with pupils bowing and curtsying to their teachers. In the second picture, Richard Broome, 10, demonstrates a Victorian-style game in 1988.
The third picture shows the brass section at Witney Music School rehearsing for a concert in 1980.
