FIRE chiefs are urging drivers to be aware of icy roads after two cars crashed last night.
The accident, which happened at about 6.30pm on the B4027 near Wootton, near Woodstock is thought to have been caused by a slippery surface.
Nobody was hurt in the crash.
This weekend temperatures are set to plummet to -4c and there had been some forecasts of snow on Saturday. The latest forecast from the Met Office, which has issued a severe weather warning for the county, is no snow until Monday.
A fire crew from Charlbury attended the accident, along with the Specialist Rescue Team from Kidlington Watch Manager Gary Crone said: “The occupants of these vehicles were extremely lucky to escape without serious injury.
“We would urge everyone to take extra care on the roads during the winter weather and to adjust their driving speeds according to the conditions.
“Country roads are extremely dangerous when icy.”
Police are investigating.
