Williams Hybrid Power, a division of the Williams Formula One team, has won a top industry award.
The Grove-based company claimed the Powertrain Innovation of the Year award at the Professional Motorsport World Expo in Köln, Germany for its flywheel technology used in the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid programme.
Managing director Ian Foley said: “We believe this validation together with promising early signs from our other work for road car and light transport applications will see WHP prosper into the medium-term and beyond.”
The technology is now being used in a range of vehicles from cars to buses and trams.
